The Arena Season 5 Draws Near
Author:admin Date:11/20/2008 Source:http://www.wowgold800.com

We take pleasure in reminding everyone that Arena Season 4 is coming to the end, and during next Tuesday's maintenance, all arena teams as well as ratings will be wiped and arena charter NPCs disabled. Thus, Arena points will unfortunately not be rewarded for rated games played this week.
Season 5 for the Arena will begin on December 16th, when level 80 characters will begin rated play to compete for gear and end-of-season rewards. Once that happens players at level 70 will be able to participate in rated matches against level 70 opponents and gain Arena points for item purchases but will not count towards the end of season rewards. At the same time, level 80 players will be able to compete in rated arena matches where they can gain arena points which can be used to purchase level 80 arena gear, as well as compete for end-of-season rewards. Additionally, players at level 70 will continue to be able to play skirmish Arena matches against other level 70 opponents even after Wrath of the Lich King launches. It's also important to note that two new skirmish brackets (71-75, 76-80) will be available for players who wish to hone their Arena skills while leveling in Northrend.
It came during a reminder that the "Limbo Season" will end this Tuesday. That means you're not going to get Arena points for any rated matches you're playing this week. There will be no rated Arenas again until December 16th, which is kind of a shame when you consider the two new Arenas in place.
A side effect, of course, is that we now know for certain when Blizzard expects most of their players to reach level 80. Since you have to be 80 to get into the rated matches, you can guess the developers were waiting for a significant portion of the playerbase to be ready before starting the season. No doubt, high end Arena fighters will already have been storming the battlegrounds and collecting honor before the season starts.
With the gear changes and mechanics changes, it's going to be exciting to see the first season of Wrath. I'm definitely excited to see what new dynamic Death Knights bring. It's certainly going to be a different show.
With the latest patch 3.0.3 release, we've added two new arenas: the Dalaran Sewers and the Ring of Valor in Orgrimmar. These arenas offer new obstacles and challenges for strategy savvy players. The arenas have been added to the random rotation and are accessible via the queue system as Skirmishes.
The battle in Dalaran Sewers, it is likely a fact that the teams will head to the center platform to establish a favorable strategic position that is tailored to their team makeup. Ranged classes can circle the perimeter to break line of sight from melee attackers and other ranged attackers, or venture onto the platform to obtain high ground and control most of the playing field with clear lines of sight. Healers can kite melee around the platform and up the two stairways, using the two piles of crates or jumping down when necessary to break line of sight from ranged attackers.
Battles in Ruins of Lordaeron will tend to center around the coffin and its immediate surroundings. The central location, combined with the tactical opportunities it offers, makes the coffin a strong draw. It's a strong position to both defend and attack from. Players who find themselves the target of focus fire can use the coffin to try to deter their attackers. Using the coffin in this way is effective against both ranged and melee attackers. For ranged attackers, breaking line of sight with the pillars on the coffin will disrupt their attacks against you.
